About Gavin Doran
Gavin Doran was born on March 23, 1992, alongside his identical twin brother, Chase. He grew up on the Gulf of Mexico in Destin, Florida, watching fishermen unload their catch behind Harbor Docks restaurant. These characters sparked Gavin's curiosity and inspired his first portrait project; 'Sons of the Sea.'
In 2019, Gavin met Polish entrepreneur and artist Nicola Leończyk in New York City. They married at Książ Castle in northern Wałbrzych, Poland, in August 2023.
Three days into Russia's invasion, Gavin was photographing the refugee crisis at the Polish-Ukrainian border. Soon after, he boarded a supply train into L'viv. His resulting photo project, 'Slava Ukraini,' documents the early days of one of the defining conflicts of our time.
Now traveling between his New York City studio, Florida and Gdańsk, Poland, Gavin's passion for conveying the human condition transcends borders as he embarks on global assignments and campaigns. With a keen eye for detail and a profound empathy towards his subjects, Gavin's approach creates powerful images that deeply resonate with viewers.
